Mother’s Day Gift Ideas!

by | Apr 29, 2020 | Motherhood

Mother’s Day is Sunday May 10th this year (which is so soon)! Shopping for a gift can be really tough depending on who you’re shopping for. It’s one of those holidays where I put pressure on myself to do something super special for the mamas in my life… and I’ll admit, I also expect something really special from my husband- LOL!

Last year, I did a “gift ideas for dad” post with several ideas of things your man could do for you (several of them are non-material ideas)! You can find that post here if you want to slip it into his DMs 😉

Below are 30+ gift ideas (make sure you scroll all the way down for a few that aren’t included in the collage)! A lot of these could work for your mom, your mother-in-law, or even just a sister or friend that you want to buy something special for this year.

Explanations/links to everything shown in collage is below!

1.This adorable toss pillow with her kids or grandkids’ names on it comes in many different font options!

2. A custom necklace from Brook & York. So many cute options like the ones shown in the collage above!

3. A marble and brass monogram board from William’s-Sonoma. I love how simple yet gorgeous this would be to serve cheeses, fruit, meats, etc.

4. A wooden calendar from Artifact Uprising (from $25)! A small but special gift that she would actually use.

5. A cute mama tee or sweatshirt from The Container Clothing Co.! They have lots of options!

6. Matching monogrammed aprons! You can also buy just the adult version for mom if she doesn’t have a daughter.

7. This gold coin necklace ($60) has a little compass on it. It could be cute to write a little note along with it that says something like, “thank you for always showing me the way.”

8. Sephora’s Mini Summer Essentials Makeup Set ($39) will allow her to try tons of different summer beauty items! You can shop all of their value sets here.

9. A nice new wallet with her name or initials monogrammed on the inside!

10. If she travels often, this backpack is amazing ($105 from Nordstrom). I recently bought one myself and can’t get over the quality, while also being so stylish. It comes in a few colors, and even has a place for your laptop!

11. Send her a real potted plant, like a mini fiddle leaf fig from The Still.

12. An InstaX polaroid camera! I’m thinking about getting one of these for my mother-in-law so that she can snap pictures of her grandkids every time they come over. Eventually she could make a big collage of candid pictures of them!

13. A fun new cook book or coffee table book. Joanna Gaines’ books are a great idea, and she just came out with volume 2 of her cook book!

14. If she’s into gardening, this little tote with included tools from Target ($33.99) is so adorable!

15. This “Recipe for a special mom” cutting board is from Amazon. Love the added sentiment!

16. Get her a personalized bottle of wine from Mark & Graham.

17. This mom collage stainless steel wine tumbler is customizable and will keep her white wine cold this spring/summer 🙂 You can pick/preview the images on Shutterfly’s website!

18. Personalized wood cheese boards always add such a nice touch when entertaining!

19. A super nice new planner from Eric Condren ($55). These things are amazing! Buying one includes:

• Mini months
• Monthly Quotes
• Monthly notes and productivity pages
• Dated monthly, weekly spreads
• Additional notes in the back
• Contacts page
• 4 sticker sheets
• 1 Keep It Together Folder

20. Monogrammed ceramic pitchers make for really pretty flower vases!

21. If she loves to host, these insulated wine tumblers are super affordable, and come in tons of color combinations on Amazon!

22. A customized heart snapshot from Minted with a variety of your photos. I got this for my mother-in-law one year and it was so special!

23. A nice candle from Homesick to remind her you’re grateful for her every time she burns it!

24. A cute new case for her air pods (Anthropologie, $26). I think I need this myself!

25. This pretty boxed herb garden can be delivered to her door through Harry and David ($49.99)!

Ideas not shown in collage above:

*ONE HOPE wine subscription. Their mission is to deliver amazing wine, while always giving back to those in need. In addition to the current nonprofits that each bottle supports, they have created more opportunities for their community to fundraise for frontline workers and mothers in hospitality during these uncertain times.

*Flower bouquet delivery. I recently ordered a couple from The Bouqs Co. and they are SO gorgeous (or check with you local florists to see if they are delivering)!

*Consider buying her a family portrait session! There is nothing more meaningful than having nice, professional photos to look back on. If you’re in Columbus, I can give you some recommendations! Just reach out to me directly 🙂

*My Mother’s Book : this is a guided journal that prompts your mother to share her memories, dreams, and wishes, asking her to record everything from her favorite band as a teenager and her childhood games to her proudest accomplishment and her first memory of you. Give it to her as a gift; get it back as a chronicle of her life!

*A custom framed map of her hometown, favorite place, location she loves to travel, etc. from GrafoMap

*A delicious sweet treat from Milk Bar-here is their sampler pack!

*A 3-month membership to Book of the Month! This lets her pick new books for $12.50 to $15 a month depending on the length of subscription you choose to give her (three, six, or 12 months). She can also request extra books if she reads more than one book a month.

*An easy indoor herb garden from Amazon (takes basically zero effort to grow)!

*If she’s a coffee lover: a 3 month subscription to Atlas Coffee club! Each month they’ll receive coffee and culture from a new country.

*A subscription to WINC wine club! You can choose from 1 month, 2 month or 3 month!

*An at-home full manicure box from Olive and June! Because who doesn’t need some help with their nails right now?

*A super luxurious robe like this one from Parachute. You can’t go wrong with a brand new cozy robe that you can wear every day!

I hope this helps you find something you feel excited to gift this year! Let me know if you end up purchasing anything so I can make note of it for next year 🙂

Hello

I’m Elizabeth

I’m a wife, a mom of three boys, a stylist, and a not-your-typical blogger. I started this blog as a creative outlet after I left my fun-but-demanding job at an ad agency. It’s grown into such a fun, no judgment, community of women that have become virtual friends.  I am so glad you’re here!

Check these out too!
