Master Bathroom Renovation

by | Oct 30, 2018 | Home

Who loves to brush their teeth with beard hair all over the sink?  I KNOW I DO!

Lies.  I actually despise beard hair left on the bathroom sink with every ounce of my being.  Which is what motivated me to convince my husband to renovate our master bathroom.

Ok, so it was necessary to redo our bathroom for more reasons than just his disgusting little hairs that he cannot seem to learn how to clean up (love you babe).  We moved into our house a little over three years ago and it’s something we always knew we’d need to redo eventually.  Our master bedroom is on the main level (which I love), but our bathroom was SO tiny.  Not only was it tiny, but we had to share a really tiny sink.  If you want to know how to create tension and arguments every morning getting ready for work with your spouse…share a small sink and a bathroom that you can barely move in. It’s a great time.

Before the renovation, our bathroom and closet were two completely different rooms with different entrances.  As you can see from the first picture above, there was a door into the bathroom back by the window.  I am actually standing in our closet taking that picture, where we knocked down the wall that was there previously, separating the two rooms.  That allowed us to open up the bathroom and closet to be one big space (hallelujah).

It also made it so that we could close off the door you’re seeing in that first picture, extend that wall, and make room for a double vanity. THANK GOD! I never have to share a sink with a man again!

The style of our house is definitely mostly farmhouse, so I knew I wanted the bathroom to have that vibe.  I also knew I wanted it to mainly be white and clean, other than the floor.  White floors show every little ounce of dirt and dark hair and I knew my OCD would be through the roof being able to see how dirty the floor was every time I blow dried my weave.

We went with a porcelain tile for the floor that looks like hardwood, and I LOVE how it looks.  Best decision ever.

Here are a few pictures of the finished product.  All the info I could find on the products we use is listed below!

Hello

I’m Elizabeth

I’m a wife, a mom of three boys, a stylist, and a not-your-typical blogger. I started this blog as a creative outlet after I left my fun-but-demanding job at an ad agency. It’s grown into such a fun, no judgment, community of women that have become virtual friends.  I am so glad you’re here!

Check these out too!
