I’m so excited to share with you guys a full tour of our holiday decor at the lake house!
It’s taken us about three months to get the house together. When we first received possession of the home, it was filthy, dated, and felt nothing like “us.” We’ve put a ton of time and work into making it our own homey space!
There is still so much I want to do here eventually (new floors, an addition to the back deck, updated furniture in master bedroom, and redo both bathrooms completely). That being said, I’m so happy with the few updates we’ve made so far to brighten and cozy it up.
The main thing we did that made a massive difference was paint everything. The entire place was a warm wood (I’m talking floor to ceiling, INCLUDING the ceiling). We painted it ALL white (Sherwin Williams Alabaster). I chose this color because sometimes painting that much high gloss/bright white can end up looking like a medical building or doctor’s office.
All of the holiday decor you see in the photos is from the “cozy cottage” line at Big Lots! I was honestly so surprised at how many cute/festive items they have this year for SUCH affordable prices.
