Do you still giggle when you hear the word balls? Do you think we will ever grow up and be mature enough not to? Hope not.
One of my faaaavorite snacks to make for the week are RAW BALLS! These are so easy to make and require no baking or cooking, just roll out…roll out…*luda voice* and then put in the freezer for a minute to get nice and hard. Why is this post sounding so dirty?
I love to switch up my recipes each time I make them, incorporating new combinations of different superfoods. Sometimes I use oats as the base, and sometimes I do raw nuts. Either way, they’re packed full of good energy boosting nutrition and if you try REALLY REALLY hard you might be able to convince yourself that it’s one of those no-bake cookies. What ever happened to those anyway?
These are a great snack to have in the fridge when hunger strikes and you need something quick!
-1 cup raw walnuts
-1/2 cup raw almonds (cashews work too!)
-1 cup pitted dates (soak for a while in hot water so they’re nice and soft)
-about 5 tablespoons of chocolate protein powder (I use @vega_team protein and greens)
-I scoop collagen peptides (I use @vitalproteins)
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-1 tsp sea salt
Add nuts to food processor and pulse until finely ground. Add everything else and process until a dough ball forms! If they seem dry, add a little hot water. Use a little cookie scoop (or your hands) to form balls and top with a little extra sea salt.
Pop in the freezer for a bit (about an hour) and then move to the fridge and enjoy!
