In the spirit of National Coffee Day coming up this weekend (September 29th), I thought it would be fun to share some fall-inspired coffee recipes you can make at home! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good Starbucks #PSL or pumpkin chai… but sometimes recreating those same flavors at home is more convenient (and affordable)!
All of these recipes can be made with a regular cup of brewed coffee! You don’t need an espresso maker or anything fancy. I go back and forth between my Nespresso and my new Keurig K-Duo machine, which gives you the option to brew a single cup or a whole pot. You can learn more about it here! Recipe #9: Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino (from virtuallyhomemade)
- Ingredients:
- 1 cup low fat milk
- 1/2 cup strong coffee
- 3/4 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup simple syrup – or to taste* (recipe below)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 to 2 cups crushed ice
- Redi Whip (or homemade whipped cream)
- Pumpkin pie spice for garnish
- Pour the first 5 ingredients into a blender. Mix on medium until thoroughly combined. *(at this point, if you have time, you can freeze this mixture in an ice cube tray and blend once frozen – this produces a more intensely flavored drink).
- Add ice and blend until the frappuccino is smooth and without chunks of ice. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Recipe #10: Salted Carmel Pumpkin Latte (from stevia)
- Ingredients:
- 2 packets Stevia In The Raw®
- 1/2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 3/4 cup 1% milk
- 2/3 cup hot coffee
In a small skillet, stir together Stevia In The Raw® and 1 teaspoon water to dissolve stevia. Add butter and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until deep brown bits form on the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and stir in cream, pumpkin, vanilla, salt, and spice. Heat milk until steaming, then add coffee and pumpkin caramel mixture, and stir to combine. If desired, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
Hope you all enjoy a yummy coffee drink to celebrate National Coffee Day this weekend!
